Abstract

Trajectory calculations were performed in order to determine "scission-point" parameters which fit experimental data on light particle emission from $^{252}\mathrm{Cf}$. The uncertainty principle was invoked when determining the initial light particle momentum and position. Experimental $^{5}\mathrm{He}$ data were fitted in order to provide an absolute time scale for particle emission. The results indicate that different light particles are fitted with different sets of parameters. None of these sets are consistent with the kinetic energy distribution in binary fission.RADIOACTIVITY, FISSION $^{252}\mathrm{Cf}(\mathrm{sf})$; trajectory calculations of light charged particle emission.
