Abstract

Reports studies of the variation in thermoluminescence (TL) glow curves with gamma exposure and in photo-transfer thermoluminescence (PTTL) glow curves after monochromatic UV exposure at 254 nm. It is shown that although the TL glow curves are better described by the recently proposed mobile-interstitial model, PTTL is not explained by this model. A revision of the mobile-interstitial model is suggested which will be useful in explaining PTTL. However, there are certain features of PTTL which at present cannot be explained satisfactorily by any of the existing models.
