Abstract
The article examines changes in glaciers on the territory of the Aksu-Zhabagyly State Nature Reserve within the Arys River basin (right tributary of the Syrdarya River). Spatial distribution and scale of changes in the boundaries of glaciers under the conditions of current climate change were assessed. The average rate of glaciation degradation for 2000-2023 is estimated. The main factors and trends in the conditions of contemporary climate change are identified. The average air temperature during the ablation period increased by 0.2-0.4 °C, the amount of precipitation for March-May decreased by 10-20 %. Directions for further research of glacial complexes are proposed.
