Abstract
A technique for evaluating stopping powers of low energy (<10 keV) electrons in solid materials is presented. The cross-sections for total ionization and total scattering of the electrons in the materials are characterized by three expressions. Fitting of these expressions to available experimental and theoretical data enables important parameters in them to be determined. These are then used in the evaluation of the fundamental stopping power formulae for the electrons. The data obtained are compared with those of other workers.
