Abstract

This article examines the impact of essays on the development of students ' communicative competencies. The abilities and skills that the student learns in the process of writing the work are listed. The author analyzes the capacity for cognitive work and the ways of studying that make it possible to use their own knowledge and skills in practice and create communicative competencies in students. The stages of writing an essay are considered and the abilities created at any stage of work are assigned. The article is aimed at substantiating the relevance and necessity of writing an essay in the formation of students ' communicative competence. Important is the meaning-forming component of the message received from the teacher to the student, intended for information exchange or communication. Developing methods lead the student to creative thinking, the successful formation of this kind of skill is facilitated by the construction of independent work, in particular, on writing an essay.
