Abstract

Stability constants of simple and mixed dl(X)- and meso(Y)-tartaric acid complexes of Cu(II) have been determined from a study using glass and solid-state Cu ++-ion-selective electrodes, at 25 ± 0·1°C and μ = 0·1mM(NaClO 4). The results show that Cu(II) forms CuX 2 and CuY 2 in the simple systems, whereas CuXY is preferred over CuX 2 and CuY 2 in the mixed system.
