Abstract

Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem (Wprowadzenie do metodologii historii, ed. Ewa Domańska, Jan Pomorski, Wydawnictwo Naukowe PWN, Warsaw 2022, 572pp) In my polemical review I focus on the conceptual apparatus of the textbook, subjecting it to some fundamental criticism. I analyse the vision of the methodology of history presented in the textbook and its relation to research practices in academic historical science.I critically examine, for example, the concepts of myth, language and paradigm discussed in the textbook. In addition, I point to the errors relating to the history of historiography and methodology.
