Abstract

The number of motor vehicles grows daily, and this factor seriously increases the risk of road accidents not only in settlements, but also in nonpopulated settlements. Traffic safety is one of the factors that builds a uneventful and secure reliable environment. Various social entities provide that – bodies at national and local level, bodies of the Ministry of Interior, local bodies, agencies, state institutions and others. In ensuring traffic safety in the served areas, the officers of the „Territorial Police“ have been entitled with powers and obligations by which implementation the road accidents in the settlements and outside the settlements could be significantly improved. This particular article aims to examine the „Territorial Police“ tasks and powers in order to ensure safety traffic in the serviced areas and their activities to improve and limit the road accidents by practical experience systematizing and summarizing.
