Abstract

Revival of regional culture is one of de major phenomenon which results of the ongoing economical, political and sociocultural mutations in Europe. It appears through new forms of appropriation and affirmation of specific features of local and regional identities and through reactivation of traditional practices in wich these identities express themselves and are recognized, from the inside as well as from the outside. At a local level, the analysis shows that these practices are part of specific strategies, individual or collective, built to offer resistance to the numerous pressures that affect local communities and diminish their strength but also to conquer new markets, new powers, or new territories. Regional culture is nowadays mobilised as a resource, a tool, and no more only as a simple way of being, product of history of societies and territories.
