Abstract

This paper proposes a quality management system framework to enhance the integration of an enterprise system. Enterprise systems are an information framework from which useful data about the operations of a company can be collected and managed. In addition, they allow users to capture necessary business information in real-time to carry out planning and operation activities and to enable more efficient and effective business planning. To utilise the information well, the quality of the information should be taken into account. In the proposed model, the concept of Six Sigma is overlaid on the structure of different types of enterprises. The architecture of a dynamic enterprise system, encapsulated within a quality management environment is tested through an integrated process model and DMAIC performance indicators (define, measure, analyse, improve, control performance indicators). The paper identifies important performance indicators that can be used in continuous improvement, and how the concept of the DMAIC process can be applied for enterprise system quality management.
