Abstract
The development of a nursing ancillary staff shared governance council that functions synergistically within a nursing shared governance structure is paramount to achieving high quality patient outcomes including nurse sensitive indicators and patient satisfaction. By closely aligning with the organization's strategic plan, nurse leaders at Pennsylvania Hospital were able to develop a successful ancillary staff shared governance council.
