Abstract

Using fossil fuels has contributed to climate change and global warming and emphasizes the need for sustainable and environmentally friendly energy sources. Renewable energies derived from sources such as solar and wind have emerged as the most promising alternatives to fossil fuels. Since the beginning of the 21st century, there has been a significant increase in research focused on renewable energy systems, especially solar and wind energy. This chapter highlights the latest innovations and achievements in solar, wind, biomass energy, and energy storage systems. This emphasizes the importance of hybrid renewable energy sources, including energy storage systems, to mitigate the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources. In addition, effective energy management is very important to balance the production, consumption, and storage of energy from different renewable sources and their integration into the grid. The rapid global deployment of renewable energy, coupled with advances in renewable energy and energy storage technologies, represents a significant transition from fossil fuels to a more sustainable energy future.
