Abstract

Abstract We describe the approach of endovascular embolisation of Rasmussen’s aneurysm by embolising the supplying arteries through both systemic and pulmonary artery approaches ensuring the complete devascularisation of Rasmussen’s aneurysm. In our patient, computed tomography angiography workup for massive haemoptysis revealed a ruptured Rasmussen’s aneurysm. A transcatheter bronchial arteriogram revealed dilated, tortuous bronchial arteries, which were embolised by polyvinyl alcohol particles. Selective pulmonary artery branch angiogram revealed two Rasmussen’s aneurysms in both lungs. Both the aneurysms were super selectively embolised using micro coils. Post embolisation, there was a complete resolution of haemoptysis. In conclusion, endovascular embolisation of Rasmussen’s aneurysm turned out to be safe and effective management.
