Abstract

Abstract Leiomyomas are benign smooth muscle tumors most commonly seen in the uterus occasionally in the gastrointestinal tract. Pulmonary localization is extremely rare with the incidence of <2%. We report the case of a 22-year-old nonsmoking female who presented with left-sided chest pain and streaky hemoptysis. Chest xray showed left lingular lobe and lower lobe collapse. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed endobronchial obstruction in the left main bronchus. Debulking was done with electrocautery snare. Histopathological examination showed spindle-shaped cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm. Immunohistochemistry showed smooth muscle actin positivity suggestive of leiomyoma. The patient is under follow-up without any complication and recurrence.
