Abstract

Approximately 500,000 to 600,000 people die annually from acute myocardial infarction. The authors have pursued an aggressive surgical approach in patients with impending myocardial infarction and early acute myocardial infarction. A brief summary of their experience and a discussion of surgical technique is provided.
