Abstract
Brushless doubly fed machine is reliable and low cost machine with simple structure, which is considered for easy to generalization. Saturation operation is frequently caused in operation process due to its complex air gap magnetic field. Firstly, this paper analyzes new cage-barrier rotor magnetic field modulation mechanism by analytic method, which shows that action of the process depending on electromechanical energy field components, then analyzes the saturation influence due to the turns number with commercial software. After two stator windings turns number are designed by finite element method, the no-load characteristics verify the effectiveness of the method for determining the turn numbers. The results and method provide an important reference for the design and development of brushless doubly fed machine.
