Abstract
Lead zirconate‐titanate (Pb(Zr0.54Ti0.46)O3) was doped with varied concentrations of Ta5+ and La3+ and sintered at 1200°C for 2 h. Dense ceramic materials were obtained when the cation stoichiometry was adjusted to allow for charge compensation of the donor ions by Pb vacancies. Bulk density, capacitance at 1 KHz, grain size, piezoelectric charge, and elastic compliance were determined experimentally. Sound wave velocity, inductance, and capacitance near resonance were calculated.
