Abstract

Aging is a complex, multifactorial process, which involves changes at physical, emotional, psychological and social levels in people. Institutionalized elderly patients usually have a degree of frailty and a tendency to dependence, both biologically, as well as functionally and socially. It is for this reason that this type of patient requires a series of care with a marked integrative nature, rehabilitative and therapeutic, among others. According Person-Centered Care aims, this article presents an intervention project based on Narrative Gerontology, to elaborate the Life Stories of several patients of a nursing home in Tenerife, searching for the improvement of their state of mind and the subsequent design of nursing activities and interventions loaded with meaning for each of them.
