Abstract
The participation of the family in the education of the children brings with it various advantages that allow to improve self-esteem, helps to develop positive attitudes towards school, hence the objective of this study is to identify the influence of family support on the academic performance of children. 4th year students of basic education from the Flavio Alfaro N ° 52 school in the Flavio Alfaro canton. This research process is mixed, quantitative, descriptive, cross-field design. Qualitative with phenomenological research. It was evidenced that according to 65% of people, their children have very good academic performance so far this school year, while for 35% it is good, indicating that despite the pandemic situation, students have known how to maintain their school average, since parents have assumed the commitment of accompaniment that has allowed them to advance throughout the entire school year.
