Abstract

Mediation, as an alternative tool for conflict resolution, has been used by social workers as part of their professional actions, covering several levels in their intervention, such as the family, characterizing this unit, by the interactions of all its members, thus deriving different types of conflicts between them. Therefore, this article is important due to the need to analyze family conflict from the perspective of Mediation in social intervention in the La Mocorita Sector of the Santa Ana canton, Manabi province, Ecuador. It was oriented in the foundations of the qualitative postpositivist philosophy, under the method of the phenomenological interpretative paradigm of ethnographic type, using the interview addressed to three families that go through different types of family conflicts. It is essential to emphasize that the social intervention of the social worker through family mediation is fundamental in the resolution of family conflicts.
