Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy and clinical values of low-dose fentanyl combined with propofol in painless gastroscopy. Methods 122 patients undergoing painless gastroscopy were randomly divided into study group (65 patients) and control group (57 patients). The study group received anesthesia with low-dose fentanyl plus propofol, while the control group received anesthesia with propofol alone. The anesthetic effects and adverse reactions were observed in both groups. Results Time to sleepiness and time to awakening were significantly shorter in the study group than in the control group (P< 0.05).The scores on the DSST was significantly greater in the study group than in the control group (P< 0.05).The incidence rates of respiratory depression and local pain due to injection were significantly lower in the study group than in the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusions Small-dose fentanyl combined with propofol is safe and effective in painless gastroscopy.
