Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of the laparoscopic appendectomy combined with baicalein aluminum capsules on levels of serum T cell subsets, procalcitonin (PCT) and lipoxygenin A4(LXA4) in patients with acute appendicitis. Methods Ninety-four patients with acute appendicitis in Xishan Coal and Electricity Group Staff General Hospital from October 2014 to September 2017 were selected and divided into experimental group and control group according to treatment protocols, with 47 cases in each group. Patients in control group were treated by laparoscopic appendectomy; patients in experimental group treated with baicalein aluminum capsules on basis of treatment for control group. The postoperative wound healing and infection condition, postoperative exhaust, body temperature recovery and hospital stay of two groups were observed. The levels of serum T cell subsets (CD4+ , CD4+ /CD8+ ), PCT and LXA4 before and after treatment in the two groups were compared. Results The incision healing degree of experimental group was better than that of control group (P 0.05). After treatment, the levels of CD4+ and CD4+ /CD8+ in experimental group were higher than those in control group (P 0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum PCT and LXA4 in experimental group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05). Conclusions For patients with acute appendicitis, baicalein aluminum capsules combined with laparoscopic appendectomy can effectively reduce the levels of serum PCT and LXA4 and the incidence of postoperative infection, significantly improve the levels of CD4+ and CD4+ /CD8+ , promote wound healing, and shorten the time of postoperative exhaust, body temperature recovery and hospital stay, of which the effect is more significant. Key words: Acute appendicitis; Laparoscopic appendectomy; Baicalein aluminum capsules; Serum T cell subgroup; Procalcitonin
