Abstract

Objective: Proanthocyanidin, a polyphenol antioxidant, has been shown to have a variety of health-promoting effects. We previously reported that grape seed proanthocyanidin extract (GSPE) decreased blood pressure in middle-aged women. In the current study, we investigated the effects of GSPE on vascular endothelial function to elucidate the mechanism underlying its blood pressure lowering effect.
