Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of bismuth quadruple therapy combined with probiotics on eradication rate and adverse reaction in eradication of Helicobacter pylori (Hp). Methods Ninety-three patients infected with Hp were divided into control group (n=46) and observation group (n=47) according to the treatment regimens. The control group was treated with bismuth quadruple therapy (amoxicillin + clarithromycin + rabeprazole + bismuth potassium citrate), the observation group was treated with bismuth quadruple and probiotics (amoxicillin + clarithromycin + rabeprazole + bismuth potassium citrate + bifidobacteria triple live capsule). Hp eradication rate, incidence of adverse reactions and drug tolerance were statistically analyzed and compared between the two groups, and the alleviated symptoms of the two groups before and after treatment were compared. Results Hp eradication rate of observation group [95.74% (45/47)] was better than that of control group [73.91%(34/46)], the difference was statistically significant (P 0.05); but after treatment, the symptom scores of the two groups significantly decreased, and the scores in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05). The adverse reaction rate in observation group [14.90% (7/47)] was significantly lower than that in control group [39.14%(18/46)], P<0.05. The drug tolerance level in observation group was higher than that in control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Bismuth quadruple therapy combined with probiotics in the treatment of Hp infection can significantly improve the Hp eradication rate, effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions and improve the degree of drug tolerance, and has clinical significance. Key words: Probiotics; Bismuth quadruple program; Eradication; Helicobacter pylori; Adverse reactions
