Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of beraprost sodium on elderly patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy (DN),and to observe the changes of plasma fibrinogen (FN)and urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER).Methods The plasma FN levels of 27 senile type 2 diabetes patients without nephropathy,48 elderly patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy were measured.Forty-eight cases of elderly patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy were divided into two groups, the conventional treatment group (24 cases) and beraprost sodium treatment group (24 cases),the changes of levels of FN and UAER in the two groups before and after treatment were observed. Results The plasma FN levels in the elderly patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy were significantly elevated than those in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes without nephropathy (P <0.01).Compared with the control group, the plasma levels of FN and UAER were significantly reduced in patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy by beraprost sodium (P < 0.05).Conclusions The level of FN increase at the onset of diabetic nephropathy and play an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy.Beraprost sodium in treatment of patients with diabetic nephropathy can correct the plasma FN imbalance, and it can reduce UAER and promote recovery.
