Abstract

Recently, the interest of the cardiology community has been focused on the results of the latest studies on the use of vasodilating β-blockers in patients with arterial hypertension. A review of these studies demonstrates a number of advantages over conventional cardioselective drugs (without vasodilator properties). The positive features of vasodilating β-adrenoblockers are proven metabolic neutrality, proportional reduction of central and peripheral blood pressure, minimal effect on bronchial patency, the absence of negative effect on erectile function, reduction in the frequency of cardiovascular complications in patients with arterial hypertension.
