Abstract

A new way to significantly improve the properties of hard alloys through the addition of tungsten carbide nanoparticles is described. Tungsten carbide is introduced in the form of a powder of nanoparticle agglomerates. The powder of agglomerates of tungsten carbide nanoparticles is mixed with a commercial hard-alloy mixture in a dry state using vibratory mixing.
