Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of training of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine (ITCWM) on job competency in nurses with a high level and to cultivate ITCWM clinical application nursing talents for adapting to research-based hospital. Methods The nursing department formed the organization in teachers training. The training and check with TCWM clinical demands oriented and the core of job competency was carried out for 126 clinical high level nurses selected in this hospital. And then, the result of examination (TCM) of traditional Chinese medical science nursing skills in nurses and the patient satisfaction were compared before and after training. Results After training, the score of the basic theory and the operative technique of TCM in nurses as well as the patient satisfaction were (91.53±3.57) , (92.24±4.85) and (97.48±2.31) higher than those before training with significant differences (t=-56.047, -34.322, -10.91; P<0.01) . Conclusions The standardized implementation of ITCWM for cultivating high level nursing talents is propitious to improve nurses' professional competence and satisfy clinical demands.
