Abstract
It was shown by IR spectroscopy that the formation of liquid-crystalline order in concentrated solutions of poly- γ-benzyl- L-glutamate in a mixed solvent does not further stabilize the helix structure of a polypeptide chain but increases the helix-coil cooperative inverted conformation transition.
