Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of solution-focused nursing intervention on the self care ability of rectal cancer patients with permanent colostomy.Methods Totals of 38 rectal cancer patients with permanent colostomy were randomly divided into the control group (n =18) and the intervention group (n =20).The control group received conventional nursing measures,while the intervention group received solution-focused nursing intervention in addition.Self care ability scale was used to evaluate and compare two groups 1 day before discharge.Results Scores of self care skill,self care responsibly,self care concept,health knowledge level and self care ability were respectively (30.72 ± 6.22),(24.19 ± 4.06),(26.58 ± 5.42),(40.78 ± 7.49),(118.00 ± 15.48) in the intervention group,and (21.28 ± 4.10),(17.70 ± 3.95),(18.37±4.13),(25.61±7.53),(83.00 ± 12.39) in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (t =4.95,9.73,8.45,10.67,25.39,respectively; P < 0.01).Conclusions Solution-focused nursing intervention can improve self care ability of rectal cancer patients with permanent colostomy and their life quality.
