Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of psychological intervention on anxiety of female patients with indwelling catheter after general anesthesia.Methods A total of 160 female patients who were received abdominal surgery after general anesthesia and indwelling catheter after operation were randomly divided into intervention group ( n =80 ) and control group ( n =80).Both of the two groups were received normal nursing of indwelling catheter,intervention group received systemic psychological intervention before general anesthesia in addition.All the subjects were evaluated by SAS before and after general anesthesia,the incidence of anxiety and the level of comfort.Results Before general anesthesia,there was no significant difference between two groups in basic SAS value ( P > 0.05 ).But after general anesthesia,the difference was significant ( P < 0.05 ).The prevalence of anxiety in 24 hours after operation was 16.25% ( 13/80 ) in intervention group,and 43.75% (45/80) in control group,the difference was significant ( P < 0.05 ).The comfort of indwelling catheter in 12hours after operation in intervention group was significantly higher than that of control group ( P < 0.05 ) Conclusions Psychological intervention can effectively ease the anxiety of female patients with indwelling catheter after operation,and improve the comfort for the period of indwelling catheter.
