Abstract

Polymer nanocomposites with a focus on nanofillers have attracted many researchers in recent years. The reason why nanocomposites show significant gains in attributes, considering various mechanical properties corresponding to impact strength, tensile strength, and wear resistance, is due to nanoscale structure of the material. Also, it improves thermal properties like thermal stability and flame retardant. These enhancements may be acquired at very low amounts of nanofiller, consequently retaining the manufacturability of polymers. The amount of property improvement depends on numerous elements like dimensions and form of nanofillers, its degree of scattering and alignment inside matrix. The interaction among the filler material and the polymer, processing techniques used for nanocomposites with rolling conditions also affect the characteristics. This paper mainly concentrates on processing of polymer nanocomposites used in rolling process with various nanofillers and associated properties.
