Abstract

The mechanical activation (MA) of the hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and aluminum nitride (hAlN) powders as well as powder mixtures hBN-hAlN and hBN-hAlN-TiN are researched. MA of the mixtures leads to an increase in their specific surface area and decreases the particle size to 30-300 nm. In the course of MA amorphization of hAlN and formation of the cubic AlN are observed. As a result of the sintering under ultrahigh pressure the nanostructured ceramic materials on the basis of the mixtures after MA are formed, and the structure depends on the technological parameters of sintering.
