Abstract

Summary Histones from gibberellic acid and indole acetic acid treated etiolated pea epicotyls have been compared with histones from untreated epicotyls by Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The histone components were found to be altered in relative quantity of individual fractions by both gibberellic acid and indole acetic acid treatment. Gibberellic acid specially increased the relative quantity of the 3 fastest moving fractions, indole acetic acid specially increased the quantity of the 2 fastest moving fractions, by comparison with the samples of untreated epicotyls.
