Abstract

The temperature response of biological systems (Q 10 ) is described in terms of the physical model of dissipative structures of thermodynamically open systems, which are far away from thermal equilibrium. The theory is shown to be consistent with experimental results on physiological temperature responses of cucumber seedlings.
