Abstract
ABSTRACT In this research, the influence of clearance of supports on free vibrations of a simply supported square plate has been analysed and investigated. To achieve this objective, the boundary conditions in clearance supports are assumed to be non-ideal and the vibration equations of the plate are examined by Lindstedt-Poincaré perturbation technique. For the validation of the performed solution and the obtained results, in a special case of one non-ideal boundary, condition, the dimensionless non-ideal natural frequencies were compared with reference. Eventually, a square plate which simply supported with two non-ideal boundary conditions on two opposite edges has been investigated. The existence of the opposite non-ideal boundary conditions, causes symmetry in the mode shapes of the plate. Based on the results, in general with going up the clearance, the difference between ideal and non-ideal natural frequencies rises as well.
