Effect of Ganoderma lucidum powder on liver cell apoptosis and nuclear transcription factor NF - κB/65 expression in type 2 diabetes rat

Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of Ganoderma lucidum powder on liver cell apoptosis and nuclear transcription factor NF - κB/65 expression in type 2 diabetes rat. Methods 40 Wistar big mice were divided into three groups randomly: control group, diabetes group and ganoderma lucidum group. The apoptosis rate of liver cell was detected by Giemsa staining and the expression of nuclear transcription factor NF - κB/65 was detected by immunohistochemical staining. Results The apoptosis rate and the expression of NF - κB/65in diabetes group was obviously higher than that of control group and ganoderma lucidum group ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusion Ganoderma lucidum powder can protect the liver organization of diabetes rats and restraint the liver cell apoptosis rate, which may be the result of reducing the oxidative stress and reducing the NF - κB/65 overexpression of diabetic liver.
