Abstract
Aggregation of platelets by epinephrine alters the incorporation of glycerol into platelet lipids. Epinephrine causes transient depression of lecithin and diglyceride synthesis and persistent depression of triglyceride formation. In contrast, phosphatidylinositol synthesis is stimulated fivefold. Aspirin inhibits, but does not completely suppress, the stimulation of phosphatidylinositol synthesis.
