Abstract

Anderson localization of electrons in presence of a finite uniform electric field in three dimensional disordered systems is discussed. Following a Migdal-Kadanoff type renormalisation group procedure, we show that for white noise Gaussian random potentials there exists a mobility edge for small electric fields. The mobility edge separates power law localized states from extended states. Moreover the mobility edge shifts into the localized regime as we increase the electric field.
