Abstract

In this paper we show how were the Roman schools and the different stages of the Roman educational system, analyzing teachers, students, curriculum and methodologies. The book written by Marco Fabio Quintiliano, De Institutione Oratoria, reveals the existence of committed teachers to improve the teaching and learning process. In this sense, we can say that several of the pedagogical and curriculum proposals of ancient Rome are similar in their formative approaches with some current proposals.
