Abstract

Abstract This essay analyzes education in the high Andean zones of Peru as challenge and opportunity for the human development of Andean children. The goal is to propose a pedagogical approach with critical and creative thinking, recognizing and valuing local cultural diversity, encouraging participation and collaboration, the development of capacities, skills, and attitudes; articulating content to the context, promoting processes of innovation and creativity in learning. It suggests actions and strategies needed at three levels of management: macro, meso and micro, to ensure quality, relevant, equitable and transformative education. The essay combines analysis of bibliographical sources and lived experiences in real contexts of local educational processes in Andean Peru.
