Abstract

Because of the rapid progress of basic and clinical researches in medicine, the most important role of academic journals is to communicate basic and clinical results in the disciplines related to medicine. Auris Nasus Larynx, the official English-language journal of the Oto-Rhino-Laryngological Society of Japan, Inc. was first published in 1972, and has provided the opportunity for rapid, carefully reviewed publications concerning the basic and clinical aspects of otorhinolaryngology and related fields including otology, neurotology, bronchoesophagology, laryngology, rhinology, allergology, head and neck medicine and oncologic surgery, maxillofacial and plastic surgery, audiology, and speech science. Therefore, Auris Nasus Larynx has forty years history as a leading academic journal in these fields.
