Abstract

The article presents the results of the analysis of scientific research on the use of compressed natural gas in road transport. The reasons limiting the widespread use of this type of motor fuel are considered. For the efficient operation of commercial vehicles running on compressed natural gas, it is important to take into account the relative position of the existing filling stations and the locations of the enterprises’ vehicles. When calculating the payback period and fuel costs of a truck for operation on compressed natural gas, the mileage to the refueling point is not taken into account, which reduces the economic efficiency of using CNG. In the present study, a mathematical model has been developed and tested for determining the operating costs of fuel depending on the mileage from the parking place of trucks to the place of refueling. Keywords: road transport, compressed natural gas, autogas filling compressor stations, fuel costs, mileage to the place of refueling
