Abstract

SummarySixteen patients suffering from mild or moderate diabetes of the fat type (except one) have been under observation during one to six months. In 14 of them, the treatment with Nadisan succeeded in controlling adequately their diabetes.This treatment has been as efficient in patients previously treated by insulin as in the others. The first group achieved a better equilibrium with Nadisan than with insulin.In two patients, the treatment with Nadisan was followed within two weeks hy acidosis.B.Z. 55 was well tolerated except for hypoglycemia of short duration and a few other minor troubles. There has been no clinical symptoms of renal, hepatic, or blood damage.Tests of kidney and hepatic functions are now being made in patients treated for a prolonged period.These results confirm those of other authors. It may be hoped that in the near future some categories of diabetic patients will be successfully treated by the oral administration of Nadisan.That B.Z. 55 is free from any toxic action is far from be...
