Riley was a student at Edison High School, Alexandria. Virginia. He served as president of the school's JETS group, a student organization that encourages the study of engineering, mathematics, science and technology. Mr. Riley was a participant in the ASNE Day 1995 student science fair. His project was also displayed at the 46th International Science and Engineering Fair, held in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, earlier this year. His career interest is in naval architecture and marine engineering.
