Abstract

While microstrip antennas are widely used on flat or nearly flat surfaces, they may be easily conformed on other common surfaces such as, cylindrical spherical, conical, etc. A previous work by Descardeci and Giarola (see IEEE Trans. Antennas Propagat., vol.AP-40, p.460-463, 1992) concerning microstrip antennas on a conical surface analyzed only the case of a single patch operating in the TM/sub 01/ mode. This analysis is being extended to include operation with a dual patch, in the TM/sub 10/ mode. A particular dual patch antenna, operating in the TM/sub 10/ mode is examined.
