Abstract

Three interpretations of quantum mechanics are re-examined: the orthodox or «Copenhagen» interpretation, the expanding-worlds interpretation and the interpretation that is generally named statistical. It is concluded that the first two interpretations introduce unnecessary conceptual difficulties, and that it is consequently preferable to accept the statistical interpretation.
