Abstract

The Polya distribution was fitted to the single electron spectrum of the proportional counter. After the measurement of the amplitude spectrum of the C-Kalpha source and the calculating of the probability distribution of the electron multiplication, the distribution of the number of primary ion pairs in matrix form was examined. The mentioned distribution was simulated by means of the Monte Carlo method too. Using the Polya distribution and the new probability function of the number of primary ion pairs, the expected frequencies were calculated and fitted to the measured amplitude spectrum for methane and the C-Kalpha source.
