Abstract

The experimental values of the dipolar increment of the complexes of ethyl bromide with p-cresol, cyclohexyl alcohol, butyl alcohol, and propyl alcohol in dilute solutions of benzene have been measured at a temperature of 308 K. Dipolar incremental values of the systems were calculated using Huyskens method based on Onsager′s theory. Some problems related to the dipole moment enhancement (Δ μ) caused by hydrogen bond formation between donor and acceptor molecules are discussed.
