Differentiated Configuration Options for Centralized and Distributed Energy Storage

Abstract

With the rapid development of new energy power generation technology and the promotion and application of energy storage in smart grids, energy storage is more and more favored by people. Firstly, the energy storage technology is classified, and its role in the power grid is analyzed. Then, the economy of centralized and distributed energy storage is analyzed. Further, according to the technical and economic characteristics of centralized energy storage and distributed energy storage, the applications of these two types of energy storage are introduced. Finally, based on the characteristics of renewable energy in Jilin Province, recommendations are made for the placement of energy storage in Jilin Province in the context of “carbon neutrality and carbon peaking.”
